DAVID H Please look no further in any of your HVAC need. Comfort Union provides both good honest advice that suit to your budget with a very reasonable price. Their in home installation service team (Harry and Gurwinder) led by Mohammed are very courteous, and they take pride in ensuring the cleanliness while taking good care of your property in and out. Comfort Union is also very accommodating with our appointment as well as the availability of the products. Asif, our free quote house call estimator, is very genuine, knowledgeable and resourceful of information with what Comfort Union can offer. As proud as Mohammed and Asif (both brothers) are working for their family oriented business, they are very friendly, easy going who stays humble while being engineers in their education backgrounds. It's a blessing to have them like part of a family, (Comfort Union), to be our future general HVAC service provider. They are the best! Thank you Comfort Union! Maur Ben A few days before Christmas in 2024, we needed to replace our furnace. After receiving three quotes, we decided to stick with our current brand CARRIER. Asif, the service manager, demonstrated a deep knowledge of the product. He made thoughtful recommendations, provided us with options, and answered all our questions, even when they came at odd hours. Asif was always quick to respond, reassuring us that we were making the right choice. He was transparent with the schedule and reminded us of the fine print: "Due to the colder weather ahead, we're experiencing high demand. We're prioritizing emergencies", which helped us prepare in case they needed to reschedule—though, thankfully, they didn’t. On December 28th, his father, Mohammed, and the crew arrived at our home on time around 10:30 AM. They worked diligently until about 10 PM, ensuring our old furnace was safely swapped for the new one, including the chimney lining. They also installed a new humidifier on an existing water line left by the previous owner. Both the new furnace and humidifier are working perfectly. We weren't able to test the AC unit to ensure the wiring wasn’t accidentally switched, but after expressing my reluctance to waste money by cooling the house down just to heat it up again, Asif agreed that we could test and run the AC in the spring. The company and crew were friendly and patient. They took great care to avoid dirtying the floor with their outdoor shoes by covering the floors and stairs and walking only on the covered areas. They also cleaned up afterward. Today, December 31st, 2024, everything is working as it should, and we’re enjoying ice-free windows thanks to our high-efficiency furnace and humidifier. We’re grateful to the crew from Comfort Union and look forward to working with them in the future to service our system and honor our CARRIER furnace warranty. Ryan Jarymy We went all electric in our home this fall and I will tell you it was not easy finding an HVAC contractor to be interested in our project. Asif took on the challenge and after a few learning struggles the whole team has pulled through to get everything done. I’m not going to say it was easy because going completely electric with heat pumps etc is still quite a new concept. What went well: We got the system installed within a few days. A Gree Flexx 3 ton cold climate heat pump mounted up 11 inches on our foundation wall (see challenges below) Gree 3 ton air handler w/8 kW heat strip and an electric fresh air damper (see challenges below) on an Ecobee thermostat IMPORTANT: Working perfectly with a two breaker design 15amp breaker for air handler/45 amp breaker for heat strip. This is I believe vital for a 100 amp panel with load management. Because only having the heat strip connected to load management is far more stable. (See challenges below) Stiebel Eltron Accelera 220E Heat Pump Water Heater is 58 gallons but when water is heated to 140°F it is ~84 gallons of 125°F water It’s on a 15 amp breaker/240 volt, important to reduce loads on a 100 amp panel They also installed a water softener to keep all of our efficient devices running a long time! (See challenges below) Challenges: 1. We were without heat for a couple days, so doing this mid winter might be more challenging, but if backup electric heating was on site that might alleviate issues for future all electric installs. We had electric heating in our bedroom, so we were just fine at night. But a couple more throughout the house might make things more comfortable. 2. A single 45 amp breaker to the air handler/heat strip caused many issues with our load management solution. It would shut down our heating entirely unexpectedly even when our overall load was less than 50% of our 100 amp panel. 3. We have questions about our fresh air damper because our CO2 levels are climbing through the night when it supposedly should be bringing in some fresh air. Perhaps another learning opportunity because in other areas of our home it’s more balanced. 4. I would like to have a before/after test of our water quality to ensure the water softener is doing what it’s supposed to do and not over or under softening. Also this ensures our saline levels are safe. 5. I would like a static pressure test done to ensure we are at approximately 0.5 inches on the water column for our air handler. This will ensure we won’t have issues with our blower motor. It can also tell us if we have ducting issues. 6. Insulation of the gas line was coming apart and did not go fully into the machine, so we ran insulation to fully cover the line and the Gree Flexx could have a better strategy to cover the opening to the Out Door Unit(ODU). It’s probably taped up well enough for the winter now. The gas line is also right up against the opening so we might need to modify the opening. Getting some vibration sounds at night when it’s running hard at -20°C type temperatures. 7. I would like to add some sheltering this summer to the sides/above the ODU to protect it from blowing snow to prevent icing up that is easy to manage for device support reasons. Possibly some sound dampening on the support legs. Some of these things are different with our system than other heat pumps getting installed because ours will be running at -30°C when others will switch to gas at temperatures closer to 0° or slightly less. Also because I wanted to keep our 100 amp panel because I believe load management is more sustainable for mass adoption of an all electric future. Had spent some time on Saturday morning calling a number of service companies and Comfort Union was one of the quickest to respond and able to execute the work over the weekend. The gentlemen that showed up were very friendly, completed the work in a timely manner, left no damage and cleaned up after the work was complete. Great experience with Comfort Union! shafiuddin mohammed Excellent service, I would highly recommend. Karthikeyan Venkatesan Excellent service! Muhammad Faisal We had an old mid-efficiency furnace and a natural draft water heater that were expensive to run and could have failed during the winter. After speaking with a few Carrier dealers and furnace companies, we decided to go with Comfort Union for a Carrier furnace and a Bradford White water heater installation. The team did a great job, especially with the exhaust venting on the exterior. We highly recommend Comfort Union for furnace replacements. 5-star service. Thank you!
