We recently had Comfort Union replace our traditional hot water tank with an IBC Tankless Boiler and water softener system, and the difference is incredible! As a large family, we now enjoy constant, consistent hot water—even when running multiple showers and the washing machine simultaneously. The upgrade has been a game-changer for our household. From start to finish, the team delivered top-tier service. Asif provided a thorough in-home estimate, answering all our questions with expertise. The installation was seamless, and Muhamad followed up to ensure everything was working perfectly. Their professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail made the entire process stress-free. We highly recommend Comfort Union for anyone considering a plumbing or heating upgrade. Outstanding workmanship, excellent customer service, and a solution that truly meets our family’s needs. Thank you!

I highly recommend this team. Asif was incredibly helpful, clearly explaining the heat pump installation and the Greener Homes Loan process. Mohammed’s installation was top-notch; his attention to detail with the wiring and system integration was impressive. The entire process was smooth and professional. 5/5 for their great work, and I will definitely use their services again.

We hired Comfort Union in March 2024 to handle a full basement project—HVAC, a cold-climate heat pump, a Rinnai Sensei RX tankless water heater, gas-fitting for the dryer, stove, BBQ and furnaces, plus a Novo water softener and reverse-osmosis system. From the first phone call to the final walkthrough, every member of the team—Asif, Mohammad and the rest—was a pleasure to work with.

Like any big job, we hit a few bumps, but the crew always made things right without hesitation. I really appreciated their forward-thinking approach: they helped us size everything properly so our 100-amp electrical panel and new Carrier furnace with Ecobee thermostat would serve us well for years. They also guided us through secondary-suite building codes and suggested smart upgrades that will save energy (and headaches) down the road.

Since the work was completed, we’ve already referred several friends and neighbours to Comfort Union—and they’ve been just as impressed. Simply put, this is the best HVAC company in Calgary. We’re grateful for their expertise and honesty, and we look forward to working with them whenever the next project comes up. Highly recommended! God bless.

What’s Lurking in Your Air?

According to the EPA, indoor air can be 2-5 times more polluted than outdoor air, with allergens, pollutants, and pathogens like mold spores, dust, and bacteria.

Cleaner Air, Healthier Living with HEPA and Media Filters

High-efficiency HEPA filter capturing fine particles like pollen, smoke, and pet dander

HEPA Filter

HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters capture 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, pet dander, and smoke particles.

HEPA filters are used in hospitals and clean rooms, showing their reliability in removing harmful particles from the air.

Media Filter

Media filters provide deep filtration layers, trapping large particles like dust and hair while reducing airflow resistance.

These are ideal for homeowners who want enhanced air filtration with less frequent replacements compared to standard filters.

What Type of Furnace Filter is Right for Your Home?

Disposable fiberglass air filter capturing basic dust and debris for short-term use

DISPOSABLE FIBERGLASS

Disposable fibreglass furnace filters are generally the cheapest and lowest quality furnace filters available. These are best used for filtering larger particles, such as during home renovations.

Pleated air filter designed to trap fine particles for improved indoor air quality

DISPOSABLE PLEATED

Disposable pleated filters are the most common type of furnace filter used in homes. Pleated filters are denser than fibreglass filters, and their wavy design creates more surface area to capture dust.

Permanent reusable air filter designed for long-term particle filtration and easy cleaning

PERMANENT REUSABLE

Permanent washable furnace filters have a lot of perks if you want to commit to the cost and maintenance. They last an average of 5 years with proper care, and should be checked and cleaned regularly.
